Just saw an interview with Australia’s latest test debutant’s Dad – Mr Johnson.Ian Healy asked him “Do you get nervous watching ?”
to which he replies, “watching cricket?”
Healy – “No, watching Mitchell”
Mr Johnson – “I’ve never seen him play cricket.”
Healy – “Ever?!”
Mr Johnson – “I’ve watched cricket, just never seen Mitchell play”
cue 5 second awkward silence… Then conversation moves to Mitchell’s girlfriend.
Mitchell has been playing cricket all his life, played for QLD and the Australian 1Day team – both of which are TELEVISED, yet his Dad has never seen him play.
New late favourite for the worst father of the year award!
