			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There is more to come&#8230; but the my USB external HD died. The card that interfaces IDE to USB has died in some form. Originally, I thought it was just the USB cable, but after opening the case found that the adapter was overheating so badly, it had melted  a lot of plastic surrounding it. From a cold start, within30 seconds (after 4 hours off), this part became insatiably hot.</p>
<p>I am now on a quest to find a new (better quality) 2.5&#8243; IDE to USB solution that supports my 160GB drive.</p>
<p>This is relevant because it had 3 or 4 posts on it that I now can&#8217;t access or publish <img src='http://oldmatebrendo.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif' alt=':(' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
